Chile has become an important country for Spanish companies to expand. The Spanish Official Chamber of Commerce organizes a great number of events in order to promote and enhance business relations between Spain and Chile. The following events are those which I co-organized during 2011:
Trade Mission - Chamber of Commerce of Madrid in Santiago, Chile - March 2011
Nineteen companies from Madrid participated in this Trade Mission. The objective was to provide the companies with contacts of local businesses/investors/institutions to collaborate in chilean projects. Also, they gained a better grasp of the situation of the chilean market to consider establishing in this Latin American country.
There was a reception hosted by the Ambassador of Spain in his residence in Santiago.
Tourism Workshop and Networking in Santiago, Chile - March 2011
Organized by Turismo Madrid (Chamber of Commerce of Madrid) and the Spanish Tourism Office in Buenos Aires (Tourespaña)
"An important delegation of tourism companies from Madrid (hotels, museums, travel agencies...) landed in Santiago willing to promote the Spanish Capital and all its region as a major tourist destination". (Cosas Magazine, April 2011)
The event gathered more than fifty companies both chilean and spanish that spent the evening doing business in the form of a workshop which allowed one-to-one business meetings.

Trade Mission - Secartys (Spanish Association for the Internationalization and Innovation of IT Companies)- June 2011, Chile
About twenty companies from Spain arrived in Chile to participate in the 9th Annual Exposition of Spanish Innovation and Technology at the Intercontinental Hotel in Santiago. Within such business environment, they offered the latest management solutions and technological advances to chilean counterparts in the IT industry.
During the 3-day-long event, a Chilean company was awarded for being the Most Innovative Company of the year.
Trade Mission - Ametic (Spanish Multisectoral Trade for IT and Digital Contents Industries) - October 2011, Chile
In this occasion, about twelve companies from different regions of Spain participated in a 2-day Trade Mission in which they visited chilean companies in their offices.
Trade Mission and Investment Forum- Spanish Regional Chambers of Commerce and Spanish Trade Commission - November 2011, Chile
This important event pursues the objective of helping spanish companies to establish and consolidate commercial relations in Chile, as well as identifying business opportunities and potential partnerships.
More than a hundred companies from different sectors (Energy, Engineering, IT, and Construction) visited Santiago for 3 days to meet with chilean counterparts.
Prince Felipe and Princess Letizia of Spain preside over the inauguration of the Forum to increase Spain´s presence in the Chilean market.
